Mbu Pufferfish - Tetraodon mbu
The infamous and highly coveted Mbu Puffer is one of a handful of full freshwater puffers one can find in the fish keeping hobby. They're are also known to be the largest specimen of the Freshwater Pufferfish in the fish hobby!
Most commonly labeled as the Freshwater Giant Puffer, some label the Mbu as "The Underwater Giant Puppy" Puffer.
They can be super aggressive, so attention is needed when selecting tank-mates.
Some know the Mbu as the Nile Puffer or Band Puffer.
The Mbu Puffer is known to grow over 2 feet in size, with a maxiumum size that is usually around 26" or so.
Their current size is around 3" - 3.5" or so.
