Figure Eight Pufferfish - 'Dichotomyctere ocellatus' / 'Tetraodon biocellatus'

The Figure 8 Puffer is a commonly seen Puffer in the fish keeping hobby.  Though it is mislabeled all the time as a freshwater Puffer, it thrives in brackish water.  They stay more on the smaller side as a brackish water fish and reaches a maxiumum size of around 3 inches.

The Figure 8 has puppy-like antics, making them highly desirable amongst Pufferfish keepers.  Despite their cute appearance, caution does need to be taken for tank-mates because they can get aggressive.

Current size is around 1.5 inches or so.
